Great Singers and Song Writers
Kubwa (Greatness) was our local theme and Servant Leader Intern Jason Pringle embraced it by decorating his class with and teaching his scholars about great singers and song writers.
Greatness
Symone Biles
Symone Biles is an American artistic gymnast. Her 11 Olympic medals and 30 World Championship medals make her the most decorated gymnast in history. The scholars learned about Biles and reinforced their learning by colorfully coloring a coloring page of her.
Integrated Reading Curriculum (IRC)
Our Servant Leader Interns learn about their cultural as they teach our scholars during IRC. This is an intergenerational learning program 44% Reading Level Growth and 36% Reading Retention.
DEAR Time
Drop Everything and Read Time
This is a time for scholars to read a book of their choice, in a location of their choice and in a position of their choice. Older scholars can read to younger scholars, younger scholars can read to older scholars and scholars can read to adults.
